Our 3-day steelhead fishing trips take you upriver for an unplugged fishing adventure in the Frank Church Wilderness on the Salmon River. With this trip you will boat and fish about 35 miles of river. This trip departs from the Vinegar Creek boat ramp (27 miles east of Riggins, Idaho). This trip includes 3 days of fishing and 2 nights of lodging at a backcountry guest ranch. Steelhead fishing gear and bait is provided.

How 3-Day fishing trip works

This is a 3 day fishing trip that leaves from Vinegar Creek on the Salmon River. You’ll spend 3 days fishing and two nights at a backcountry ranch on the Salmon River. Meals are included. You’ll have your own personal jet boat for your fishing trip. Our jet boats are Coast Guard certified and stocked with all the fishing gear you’ll need for your 3-day excursion.

How to Book

This trip requires pre-planning and can’t be booked online. Use the link below to inquire or call to book. Pricing begins at $6,000 + fees for up to 5 people. We have a max group size of 6 people.

Spring steelhead fishing starts when the ice melts on the river, which is usually mid-February. For the best spring fishing, we suggest you book your trip mid-February through mid-March.

The fall season opens in September but the fish don’t typically arrive in Riggins until October. For the best fall steelhead fishing, we suggest you book your trip for October – November. Fall fishing goes until the river freezes which is typically late November/early December.

Yes, you will stay in Riggins the night before your trip. Riggins has hotels and Airbnbs.

Yes! We provide rods, bait, and tackle.

Yes, all meals are provided.

Yes, you must purchase an Idaho fishing license and steelhead fishing permit. For detailed information visit https://idfg.idaho.gov/rules/fish.

Yes, 2 nights of lodging at either China Bar or Mackay Bar is included.

50% of the trip total is due at booking. For single day fishing trips the remaining balance is due the day of your trip. For 3-day fishing trips the remaining balance is due 14 days before your trip.

The initial reservation payment is a non-refundable retainer that reserves your date and lodging. The remaining balance is due 14 days before your trip. If you cancel you will forfeit all monies paid. Cancellation must be made over the phone. We recommend that you purchase trip insurance for this activity.

If we should have to cancel because of unforeseen circumstances (water level, ice, fires, US Forest Service restraints, etc.) you will receive a full refund.
