About our Spring Bar charters

Our Spring Bar steelhead fishing charters take you along a stretch of river that lies along the Main Salmon River Road. Your trip will begin at the Spring Bar boat ramp near Riggins, Idaho.

How our fishing trips work

You will meet your boat captain (also your fishing guide) at the Spring Bar boat ramp. You will have your own personal jet boat for your fishing trip. Our jet boats are Coast Guard certified and stocked with everything you need for your fishing excursion. Our fishing trips typically begin at 8am and you will spend the day fishing and enjoying the river. We will drop you back at the boat ramp around 5pm.

Booking minimum is $1,000 + fees/taxes and includes up to 5 people. Additional people are $200/per person. We have a max group size of 16 people.

The Spring Bar boat ramp is located 11 miles up the main Salmon River out of Riggins, Idaho. From Riggins it takes about 30 minutes to drive to the boat ramp. See where its located on a map – Google Map

You can add lodging at a backcountry ranch to your fishing trip with us or you can arrange lodging in Riggins, Idaho.

Yes, you must purchase an Idaho fishing license and Steelhead fishing permit. For detailed information visit https://idfg.idaho.gov/rules/fish.

Yes, there is a boat minimum of $1,000 or 5 people. Additional people are $200 per person. We have a max group size of 16 people.

Spring steelhead fishing starts when the ice melts on the river, which is usually mid-february. For the best spring fishing, we suggest you book your steelhead trip mid-february through the end of April.

The fall season opens in September but the fish don’t typically arrive to Riggins until October. For the best fall steelhead fishing, we suggest you book your trip October – November. Fall fishing goes until the river freezes which is typically late November/early December.

Payment is due in full at the time of booking.

Full refunds are given for cancelations that occur 30 days before our 1-day fishing trips (minus transaction fees). If you cancel within 30 days of your trip you will receive a 50% refund (minus transaction fees). If we should have to cancel because of unpredictable circumstances (water level, ice, fires, US Forest Service restraints etc) you will receive a full refunded.
